Halladay, Delgado, Wells, Hudson, and Lopez Win Team Awards

The Toronto Star reports that Halladay was named Blue Jay Pitcher of the Year, while slugger Carlos Delago was named Blue Jay Player of the Year. Seeing as Halladay won the AL Cy Young and Delgado finished 2nd in the AL MVP voting, these come as no surprise.

The awards were voted on by the Toronto chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America. The Star doesn't give full details about the voting, but we are told that there are 11 voters, who give 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ballots for each award. It appears that 3 points are given for a first, 2 for a second, and one point for a third place vote. The results, as according to the Star:

Blue Jay Player of the Year
Delgado - 31 points
Wells - 21 points
Halladay - 7 points
Myers, Hudson, Catalanotto all received votes as well.

Blue Jay Pitcher of the Year
Halladay - 33 points (first on all 11 ballots)
Escobar - 19 points
Lopez - 14 points

Blue Jay Good Guy
Vernon Wells chosen as "Good Guy". No voting results given

Blue Jay Most Improved Player
Hudson - 12 points (4 first place votes)
Johnson - 12 points (Given 2nd place, as he received 2 first place votes to Hudson's 4)
Towers - 8 points
Four other players received votes

Blue Jay Rookie of the Year
Lopez - 28 votes
Johnson - 26 votes
Hendrickson - 6 votes
Werth and Kershner also received votes
