Jays Roundup - A Little Bit More Than I Ever Wanted

A little bit more than you could ever say.

  1. Fordin Notes: Details about today's game against the Redlegs.

  2. Rosie DiManno's headline writer makes a predictable pun in "Jays hoping Cash pays off". Did Don Money have to put up with this sort of nonsense?

  3. Richard Griffin writes that "Opportunity knocking again for Jays shortstop". These are not the type of knocks we normally get in a Richard Griffin article.

  4. I somehow missed this one the first time: Mike Ganter of the sun informs us that "Doc has bitter pill for Jays hitters". I don't think anyone wants to face Doc, even in batting practice. If I were on the Jays, I think I would have strode to the plate with a table leg, a la Norm Cash. Thanks to EddieZosky for the link!

  5. The headline writers at the Globe were kind enough to let us know Francisco's position in Larry Millson's "Pitcher Rosario needs a break to make the majors". Millson is talking about Rosario's pitch arsenal, not the limbs of the members of the rotation.

  6. Bob Elliott tells us that "Hentgen's heart never left T.O.". In the first paragraph Elliott writes "How many years has it been since you heard a general manager complain about losing a free agent to the Toronto Blue Jays? Years? More than a decade?" As an Expos fan, this kind of woe is us crap among some Jays fans and writers is repulsive. It really wasn't that long ago that the Jays were still in the upper-half of payroll. Stop kvetching already, and go back to discussing your "let's trade Wade Belak and Tie Domi for Jarome Iginla and Toni Lydman" hockey talk.

  7. As not to end on a rant, I'll mention an article in the St. Petersburg Times. Greg Auman's "Budget limitations don't seem to slow down Blue Jays", is a feel good article writen by a Devil Rays beat writer. It'd be awful to be a D-Rays fan, seeing your to compete with the Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays, and Orioles, all of which are (arguably) better than last season. Mark Hendrickson could be their top starter this season. Enough said.

So what say you?
