Jays Roundup - Say You Don't Know Me, Or Recognize My Face

Say you don't care who goes to that kind of place
Knee deep in the hoopla, sinking in your fight
Too many runaways eating up the night

The Jays are 4-1 since Batter's Box poster "Jim" suggested that the Jays consider firing Carlos Tosca. If "Jim" suggests that the Jays consider relocating to Vladivostok, they'll win the pennant!

  1. Ted Lilly threw a gem yesterday; a complete game 2 hitter and the Jays won 6-1. Here's what the reporters have to say about it: Spencer Fordin: "Lilly blossoms in Minnesota: Lefty tosses third complete game of career", AP: "Lilly goes the distance", and Allan Ryan: "Lilly comes up roses for Jays, two-hits Twins".

  2. Fordin Notes: While many Batter's Box posters have been raving about Minny's new turf, it's been causing all kinds of injuries. Fortunately the X-rays on Greg Myers' leg came back negative, so he "only" has a severely sprained left ankle. AP also wrote about the cause of the injury in "Myers leaves game".

  3. Today's game features the 0-2 Miguel Batista for the 7-12 Blue Jays at the 1-0 Lefty Johan Santana for the 12-7 Twins. Spencer Fordin has a game preview available. To quote Han Solo: "I've got a bad feeling about this". Which of course means Batista will strike out 15 guys and the Jays will win 27-0. It would have been 28 if the Jays were better at conversions after touchdowns.

  4. Here's a blast from the past: An article on former Jay Rob Ducey.

  5. Good news for Auburn Doubledays fans: "Blue Jays extend contract with Doubledays: Auburn's Single-A affiliate signs four-year deal with Toronto team.".

Pointless Commentary of the Day
My Knights are out of the playoffs. It's a shame, because I thought they could go all the way this year. Does the Box have any other OHL fans?
