With open arms to welcome you
Beware the masked pretender

Welcome to a slightly abbreviated Jays Roundup.

  1. If you missed the game to watch hockey or to rant about the UN, you'll want to read about last night's game. You can select from: Spencer Fordin's "Johnson's homer helps Jays win", Dick Kaegel's "Royals come up short against Jays", Larry Millson's "Nakamura provides relief: Right-hander takes over in sixth and holds on to lead", Geoff Baker's "Hentgen comes undone but Jays hold on for win", and CP's "Jays hang on for rare home win".

  2. Fordin Notes on the bullpen, mostly on Terry "Bridgekeeper" Adams.

  3. The Jays have a great chance of making it two in a row tonight. The 7:05 start at the Skydome features the 1-2 lefty Brian Anderson for the 8-17 Royals vs. the 2-3 Doc Halladay for the 9-18 Blue Jays. Spencer Fordin has more details in his game preview. Anybody going to the game?

  4. A transaction you may have missed: "Jays acquire Clapp from Indians". I had a particularly off-colour joke here about the Jays acquiring "the clap", but in the interest of good taste I've decided to delete it. Feel free to make your own joke, just don't share it.

Any predictions about tonight's game?
