Lawrence strong again for Dunedin

Today, the farm went 1-3, with the only win being in Buffalo.  Today was highlighted by another strong pitching performance from Casey Lawrence.

Buffalo 6 – Indianapolis 5

Dave Bush started today for the Bisons, and he pitched well, going 5 innings of 5 hit ball giving up 2 runs.  Mickey Storey came in the 9th to finish off the game, but was hit hard giving up 3 runs over 2/3 an inning.

Luiz Jimenez, Mauro Gomez , and Josh Thole each hit a homerun off Indianapolis starter Brooks Brown today.  As well Jim Negrych went 2-4 with a run, and Ryan Langerhans went 3-4 with 2 runs. 

 

New Hampshire 4 – New Britain 11

Deck McGuire had another stinker for the Jays today; he pitched 5 innings giving up 9 hits, 2 walks and 5 earned runs.  Dustin Antolin, and Evan Crawford were both hit hard giving up 2 and 3 runs respectively while each pitching 1 inning.

Kevin Pillar continued to get on base today for the Fisher Cats, as he had 3 hits, and a walk.  Brian Van Kirk, and Sean Ochinko, each had 2 hits, while Brian Van Kirk had a 2 run jack in a losing effort.

 

Dunedin 2 – Tampa 3 (13 Innings)

Casey Lawrence had a fantasy start today for Dunedin, as he went 7 innings giving up 5 hits, 1 earned run, and 6 strikeouts.  Ajay Meyer and Blake McFarland each gave up a run in relief.

Tonight Dunedin had 10 hits, and 4 walks but only managed to put up two runs versus Tampa pitching over 13 innings. Marcus Knecht went 2-4 with a double, Mike Crouse went 3-5 with a double, and Chris Schaeffer knocked in 2 runs with a single.

Lansing 3 – South Bend 5

Lansing put 7 hits today, but only managed 3 runs.  Dwight smith had 2 hits, and Gustavo Pierre continued to stay hot with 3 hits.  Christian Lopes had a solo home run, which was the 4th of the year for him.

This afternoon Alonzo Gonzalez started the game for the Lugnuts.  He put together a decent start of 5 innings including 5 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks and a strikeout.  Ian Kadish relieved him and gave up 2 runs that gave South Bend enough for the win.
