Nolin and Hollon Debut for New Teams

On Sunday the affiliates were 2-4.  Vancouver had a night to forget. Lansing won in extra innings.   Sean Nolin made his debut for Buffalo.  New Hampshire won in the bottom of the 9th inning, and Clinton Hollon made his debut for Bluefield.

Buffalo 1 – Pawtucket 3

Sean Nolin had his first AAA start since recently being promoted from New Hampshire.  Sean pitched 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, 4 walks, and 4 strikeouts.  Joel Carreno gave up a solo home run in the 7th inning to Jackie Bradley Jr.

Clint Robinson had his second HR for Buffalo in the 6th inning off of knuckleballer Charlie Haeger.

 

New Hampshire 2 – Trenton 1

Austin Bibens-Dirkx was given Sean Nolin’s spot in the rotation and had a fantastic start.  Austin pitched 7 scoreless innings only giving up 2 hits, with 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts.

Kenny Wilson had his second HR of the year, and his 14th stolen base.  Adam Loewen and Amadeo Zazueta each had a double.

 

Dunedin 6 – Clearwater 7

Casey Lawrence had a rough outing in which he gave up 5 earned runs on 11 hits over 5 innings. Blake McFarland got roughed up in the 9th inning, as he gave up 2 runs, of which 1 was earned and before being credited with the loss.

KC Hobson had a double and his team leading 18th HR of the year while scoring two runs.  Marcus Knecht scored two runs as well. 

 

Lansing 7 – Lake County 6 (12 Innings)

Taylor Cole started for the Lugnuts, and threw 5 innings giving up 4 earned runs.  Efrain Nieves, Ian Kadish and Arik Sikula pitched the remaining 6 innings, with Arik Sikula getting the win.

Dwight Smith Jr was 3-6, with a double, and two RBI’s.  Daniel Klein singled home Kevin Patterson in the bottom of the 12th for the game winning run.

 

Salem-Keizer 15 – Vancouver 5

Nothing was clicking for Vancouver’s pitching as they gave up 15 runs of which 11 were on 14 hits.  Colton turner was charged with 7 runs (3 earned) over 4.1 innings.  Drew Permison gave up 3 runs in .1 innings pitched.  Brandon Dorsett gave up 5 runs in the 9th inning.

On the offensive side the Canadians scored 3 runs in the 4th inning, and 2 in the 9th inning.  Seth Conner and Christian Vazquez each had 2 runs batted in.

 

Bluefield 2 – Pulaski 5

In Clinton Hollon’s first start for Bluefield he gave up 4 runs over 4.1 innings on 4 hits, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. 

Matt Dean scored DJ Davis in the first inning on a ground out.  The other run was scored in the third inning when Mitch Nay drove home Tim Locastro on a sac-fly.
