Vancouver lose game one and now need to win both game two and three at home. Jairo Labourt pitched well until he tired in the sixth, the bullpen inflicted most of the damage. The hitters had a few early chances but they didn't score and didn't have much else to be happy with for the rest of the game.
Vancouver now make the long bus ride back to Canada. Because of that, game two is not until Sunday.

Jairo Labourt made his first start for Vancouver and he pitched well into the sixth inning. He did give up a lead off triple and a run in the third inning. Labourt got the first two outs of the sixth before Boise got an infield single and then Labourt hit a batter. With two on and two out Brady Dragmire came into the game. A single off Dragmire scored a run and then a double scored two more and Boise led 4-0.
Dillon Maples, one of the Cubs prospects, went 6.1 innings for Boise. The Canadians had six hits off him. Dragmire came back out for the seventh and gave up a solo home run to make it 5-0.
The Jays did have a couple of early chances, Andy Fermin walked in the first and third innings and twice was on third. In the first Mitch Nay doubled Fermin to third with one out but LB Dantzler struck out and Dawel Lugo grounded out. In the third Dantzler singled Fermin to third with two outs but again Lugo grounded out. The Canadians didn't get a runner into scoring position until the seventh, Michael Reeves and Brenden Kalfus both singled but were stranded.
Labourt's line was 5.2 4 3 3 0 10. That is ten of 17 outs via the K. Vancouver had just six hits, Kalfus had two.
