The Jays affiliates were 2-1 today, while the Fisher Cats were rained out versus the Trenton Thunder.  After a few rough starts, we are slowly starting to see the Lugnuts pitchers pitch well, as today Chase De Jong and Tom Robson were fantastic.

Trenton – New Hampshire (PPD Rain)

Dunedin 0 – Tampa 6

In his first start since being promoted from Lansing, Kendall Graveman lasted 4 innings, giving up 4 runs (2 earned) on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts.

Dunedin only managed to have two hits today, a double from Dalton Pompey, and a single from Kevin Patterson.

Lansing 7 – Dayton 5

Lansing had 15 hits today off Dayton thanks to several strong performances across the board.  Justin Atkinson had 5 hits, Jorge Saez had 3 hits, including 2 doubles, and DJ Davis hit his second HR of the season.

On the pitching side Chase De Jong pitched 3 innings giving up two runs (one earned) while giving up 3 hits, 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.  Alonzo Gonzalez gave up 2 earned runs without getting an out.  Phil Kish and Scott Silverstein followed up by pitching 6 innings only giving up one earned run.

Lansing 3 – Dayton 1 (7 Innings)

In game two the Tom Robson we have all been hoping for finally showed up.  Tom was brilliant, as he pitched 6 innings giving up one run on 3 hits, with one walk and 4 strikeouts.  Griffin Murphy finished the game off earning his second save of the season.

On the offensive side, the Lugnuts scored 3 runs on 4 hits.  Mitch Nay was 2-3 raising his average to .290 while scoring a run.

Three Stars

1- Justin Atkinson

2- Tom Robson

3- Dj Davis

I think this start for Kendall Graveman is non-representative of his abilities. His adrenalin must have been flooding his system and learning new hitters in a tougher league at the same time, he didn't have a chance.

9. Blue Jays
Callis: Touki Toussaint, RHP, Coral Springs (Fla.) Christian Academy
-- After failing to sign Beede (2011) and Phil Bickford ('13), Toronto finally lands an electric high school right-hander in the first round.
Mayo: Sean Reid-Foley, RHP, Sandalwood HS (Jacksonville, Fla.) -- The Jays love high school pitching, and they're not afraid to surprise.

Perfect Game's first mock draft (subscription) has Jays taking RHP Touki Toussaint (a Vanderbilt commit) #9 and at #11 SS Trea Turner (NC State)

Thanks Mendocino. I went through many of the 100's scouting reports. This could be a strong draft year. I hope we get lucky.
