The affiliates were 0-3 today, with Buffalo’s game being PPD till Thursday for a double header.  Lansing and New Hampshire had strong performances from their starters, while Dunedin’s pitching wasn’t pretty.

Gwinnett – Buffalo (PPD)

Reading 5 – New Hampshire 4 (10 Innings)

Deck McGuire continued to be a giant surprise in 2014, as he had another excellent start today, but was let down by his bullpen.  Deck pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 2 earned runs, giving up 4 hits, with 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts.  Tyler Ybarra gave up 2 runs relieving Deck, but Randy Boone gave up the game winning run in the top of 10th and given the loss.

The Fisher Cats offense managed to score 4 runs on 6 hits and 5 walks.  Mike Crouse and Gabe Jacobo each had solo HRs with their 2nd, and 3rd respectively.

Dunedin 2 – Palm Beach 9

The Dunedin Blue Jays pitchers were not sharp today, as they gave up 9 earned runs over 13 innings on 5 walks with 4 strikeouts.    Ben White was given the start, and was followed by Chad Girodo, Danny Barnes, Justin Jackson, and Kramer Champlin.

The offense was able to put together 9 hits, which amounted to only 2 runs unfortunately.  Emilio Guerrero hit his 4th home run of the season, and Nick Baligod had 3 hits.  Also, it was the second game of the season for Kellen Sweeney, as he started the season in extended spring training.

Lansing 3 – Bowling Green 4

Jeremy Gabryszwski had another solid start in which he pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits, with one walk, and one strikeout while allowing one earned run.  But, unfortunately Alonzo Gonzalez gave up 2 runs and Brady Dragmire gave up a run.

On the Hitting side, Derrick Loveless had 2 hits, and Jorge Saez knocked in two runs off a 6th inning double.

Three Stars

1.  Deck McGuire

2.  Jeremy Gabryszwski

3.  Mike Crouse/ Emilio Guerrero/Gabe Jacobo
