The affiliates were 3-1, with the only loss coming from New Hampshire who lost in a 14 inning game. Taylor Cole had a strong start for Dunedin, with offensive help from Markus Knecht and Dwight Smith Jr. Lansing won a close game 4-3, despite being outhit 14-5, and Buffalo beat up on the Phillies AAA affiliate Lehigh Valley winning 7-1.
Lehigh Valley 1 – Buffalo 7
Shawn Hill had an excellent start in which he gave up one earned run over 7 innings. Rob Rasmussen and Ryan Tepera followed each with a scoreless inning pitched.
The Bisons managed to put together 16 hits, scoring 7 runs with a 4 doubles, and a home run from Jared Goedert.
Binghampton 9 – New Hampshire 8 (14 Innings)
Casey Lawrence started for the Fisher Cats today and gave up 7 earned runs over 5.2 innings. Reliever Tony Davis was given the loss after giving up the game winning run in the top of the 14th inning.
Jonathan Jones had 3 hits, Gabe Jacobo had 2 hits with 4 RBI, and Andy Burns had 2 hits with 2 RBI as well.
Bradenton 4 – Dunedin 5
Dwight Smith Jr scored 2 runs, with 2 hits, including a double, and 2 walks. Markus Knecht was 3-5 with a double and two RBI.
Taylor Cole continued to pitch well as he pitched 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. Justin Jackson pitched a scoreless 7th inning, while Kramer Champlin pitched a scoreless 7th and 8th winning getting the win in the process.
Dayton 3 – Lansing 4
Matt Dermody started today giving up one earned run over 5 innings. Brady Dragmire followed by giving up 2 runs over 1.1 innings. Scott Silverstein pitched the remaining 2.2 innings without giving up a run.
The Lugnuts offense wasn’t pretty, but managed to score 4 runs, as they had 5 hits, 5 walks, and 14 strikeouts. Three of the runs were unearned due to Dayton errors.
