Matt Boyd Struggles Again

The affiliates were 3-2 today, with losses coming from Buffalo, and New Hampshire.  New Hampshire split two games with Binghamton.  Dunedin won again, and Lansing scraped by with a 2-1 win.

Buffalo 2 – Indianapolis 5

Kyle Drabek had an ok start (5IP, 10H, 3ER, 1BB, 0SO) in which continued to limit his walks, but still gave up too many hits.  John Stilson followed giving up 2 earned runs over 1.1 innings pitched.  Ryan Rowland-Smith and Neil Wagner combined to pitch the next 1.2 scoreless innings.

The Bisons only managed to score two runs from when Ryan Goins doubled home Kenny Wilson, and Munenori Kawasaki in the 3rd inning.

 

New Hampshire 5 – Binghamton 7 (Continued from May 27)

Matt Boyd continued to struggle in AA, as he was hit hard again today and finished with a line of 1.2IP, 6ER, 4BB, 1SO.  After Matt left, Blake McFarland pitched 4 innings giving up a run.  Arik pitched a scoreless 8th inning, and was followed by Dustin Antolin who pitched a scoreless 9th.

The Fisher Cats offense was lead again by Ryan Schimpf who was 2-5, with a double and home run while driving in 4 runs.

 

New Hampshire 5 – Binghampton 2 (7 Innings)

Casey Lawrence had a solid start in which he lasted 5 innings, giving up 4 hits, 2 runs(0 earned) with 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts.  Tyler Ybarra and Randy Boone each followed with a scoreless inning pitched.

The Fisher Cats lineup featured two new players in Melky Mesa and Hector Gimenez today.  The Fisher Cats had 3 doubles coming from Ryan Schimpf, Hector Gimenez and Matt Newman. 

 

Dunedin 5 – Charlotte 3

Marcus Knecht was the player of the game today for Dunedin, as he was 4-4, with 2 doubles, a walk while scoring a run, and driving in 2 runs.   Dwight Smith contributed with two RBI, and KC Hobson had helped with the other RBI.

Pitching was solid again across the board for Dunedin starting with a quality start from Kendall Graveman(6IP, 5H, 2ER, 2BB, 4SO).  Efrain Nieves, Justin Jackson, and Tony Davis combined to pitch the the next 2 innings without giving up a run.  Danny Barnes closed out the game getting his first save of the year in the process.

 

Great Lakes 1 – Lansing 2

Matt Dermody had a quality start (6.1IP, 3H, 1ER, 3BB, 3SO) after his previous nightmare start in which he gave up 9ER.  Yeyfry Del Rosario, Scott Silverstein, and Griffin Murphy combined to pitch the next 2.2 innings without giving up a run. 

On the offensive side, the Lugnuts managed to score two runs.  Dawel Lugo scored in the 2nd inning on a Jorge Saez single.  The other run was scored in the 6th inning, when Derick Loveless scored on a wild pitch from 3rd base.
