Casey Lawrence retired the first twenty hitters in the second game of a doubleheader. He was one out away from perfection. New Hampshire swept the doubleheader. Buffalo won as PJ Walters made a very good start. Lansing won in extra innings. Bluefield rode a grand slam from Richard Urena to victory.

Dunedin lost in the bottom of the ninth. Vancouver tried a comeback but fell short. The GCL Jays rode the roller coaster but came up short.

Columbus 1 Buffalo 7

A five run eighth sealed the deal for the Bisons. In the eighth AJ Jimenez and Andy LaRoche each drove in two runs. The Bisons first run was a solo shot by Ryan Schimpf, the second scored on a ground out. Ryan Goins was the only hitter with two hits.

PJ Walters pitched very well to just give up one run in seven innings on four hits. In the seventh Walters had a runner on third with no outs and he managed to escape without the run scoring. Steve Delabar pitched a 1-2-3 eighth.

New Britain 2 New Hampshire 3 - game 1

New Hampshire scored a run in the seventh to tie and send the game to extra innings and then scored the winning run in the eighth in walk-off fashion. Mike McDade homered in the seventh to tie the game. Jon Berti doubled in the eighth to drive in Kenny Wilson. Six hitters each had one hit.

Radhames Liz went five innings and was charged with the two runs. Tyler Ybarra pitched the eighth to get the win.

New Britain 0 New Hampshire 8 - game 2

Casey Lawrence almost had a perfect game, he was one out away when a pinch hitter singled.

Mike McDade singled in the first run in the fourth. Jon Berti and Matt Newman drove in runs in the fifth to make it 3-0. Jorge Flores and Newman drove in the first two of runs in the seventh. Berti, Newman and Jack Murphy each had two hits. Dalton Pompey was 0-3, was hit by a pitch, and had a strikeout.

Dunedin 1 Tampa 2

A walk off win for the Yankees. Gustavo Pierre started the ninth with an error. Efrain Nieves got a couple of outs but then ran into a game winning single. Ben White had his best start in a while, just one unearned run allowed.

The Jays were held to four hits. Dwight Smith drove in the only run.

Lansing 6 Great Lakes 4 - 11 innings

Dawel Lugo and Dickie Thon singled to lead off the eleventh. A sac fly scored the winning run and then David Harris hit a two run home run. DJ Davis and Derrick Loveless each had a homer among their two hits. Lugo also bagged a pair.

Brad Allen made his first start in a month and was hit for three runs. The bullpen pitched nine innings and only allowed an eleventh inning home run.

Tri-City 7 Vancouver 6

Vancouver scored four in the bottom of the ninth and left two men on but that's a loss. Starlyn Suriel wasn't a problem, he went five shutout innings with six K's. But the bullpen coughed up seven runs, four of them earned.

Franklin Barreto had two hits, two RBI's and a walk. Michael De La Cruz also had two hits and he added two walks.

Pulaski 5 Bluefield 6

Bluefield were down 3-0 before they came to bat but came back to lead 6-3. All of the first inning runs were unearned and starter Miguel Burgos held Pulaski at bay through 4 innings. Oscar Cabrera and Dusty Isaacs each gave up a run.

Richard Urena had the big hit, a grand slam. He also doubled. Josh Almonte and Trent Miller also had two hits each.

GCL Jays 9 GCL Braves 10

The Jays trailed 7-2, came back to lead 8-7, but could not hold it. Sean Reid-Foley made his professional debut and it lasted six hitters. Two walks and an error by Yeltsin Gudino did him in. The only hit off him was a ground ball double. Now the jitters should be gone and start number two will hopefully be better. The pitchers who came after, Angel Perdomo and Joe Claver, did no better.

Nathan De Souza from Milton had three hits and a walk. Juan Kelly had a double and a triple, Juan Tejada had a triple and a home run. Lane Thomas registered a double and two walks.
