The affiliates were 5-3 today, with wins coming for Buffalo in a double header, New Hampshire, Lansing, and the DSL Jays.

Scranton/WB 1 – Buffalo 3 (7 Innings)

Raul Valdes got the spot start in game 2 of the Double Header and pitched well over 4 innings allowing one earned run.  Brett Cecil, Kyle Drabek, and Steve Delabar each followed up with a scoreless inning pitched.

The Bisons scored a bunch of ugly runs today, as 2 came through on bases loaded walk, and the other on a passed ball.

Scranton/WB – 0 – Buffalo 1 (8 Innings)

PJ Walters pitched 7 scoreless innings giving up 6 hits, with 1 walk, and 9 strikeouts.

Buffalo had only 6 hits, but the biggest hit came from Dan Johnson who ended the game in the bottom of the 8th with his 17th HR of the season.

New Hampshire 7 – Reading 1

Radhames Liz was brilliant pitching 6 innings, giving up 6 hits, 1 run, with no walks, and 3 strikeouts.  Austin Bibens-Dirkx followed up with 3 scoreless innings in his first since being sent down from Buffalo.

Semi-new Fisher Cat Cory Aldridge had a 3 run HR in the 4th, which was all the offense the Fisher Cats needed today.

Clearwater 11 – Dunedin 5

After a successful 2013 in Dunedin, Jesse Hernandez continued to struggle in Dunedin this year.  Jesse gave up 8 runs, 6 earned over 3 innings pitched.

Normally 12 hits and 6 walks would amount to a lot of runs, but unfortunately for Dunedin today it only amounted to 5 runs.

Lansing 9 – West Michigan 3

The Lugnuts offense didn’t miss a pitch, as they had 16 hits which amounted to 9 runs scored.  Matt Dean had 2 hits, and 2 runs scored.  Mitch Nay was 2-4, with a run scored, and 2 RBI.  Derick Loveless was 3-5, with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Dickie Joe Thon contributed with 2 hits, and 2 runs scored.  Finally, Jason Leblebijian helped out by going 3-5, with a triple, and 2 RBI.

The Lugnuts pitching was solid across the board, over 9 innings they gave up 9 hits, 3 runs (2 earned) with 4 walks, and 10 strikeouts.  The pitching included appearances from Brad Allen, Alonzo Gonzalez, Roberto Espinosa, and Adaric Kelly.

Salem-Keizer 6 – Vancouver 1

Starter Starlyn Suriel pitched 4.2 innings and gave up 4 runs (3 earned).  Tim Mayza followed up with giving up 2 earned runs over 2.1 innings pitched.

The only Canadians run was scored when Franklin Barreto had a single which scored Roemon Fields from third.

GCL Yankees2 9 – GCL Blue Jays 6

Lane Thomas had 3 hits, including a double which lead to 2 RBI.  Juan Kelly, and Edwin Fuentes each had 2 RBIs as well.

Nick Wells gave up 2 earned runs while pitching the first inning.  Angel Perdomo pitched 2 scoreless innings, and Francis Eduardo followed up allowing 4 earned runs over 2 innings.  Turner Lee pitched 3 innings giving up 1 earned run, and Brandon Hinkle followed up with pitching 1 inning while giving up 2 runs (1 earned).

DSL Mets2 1 – DSL Blue Jays 2

Rodrigo Orozco, Enmanuel Moreta, and Luis Dominguez each had a double. Bryan Lizardo, and Francisco Rodriguez each scored a run.
