The Vancouver Canadians wrapped up a three-game series in Everett Thursday night. Today's POTD looks at the rubber match between the C's and the AquaSox, an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners

Webbly, the AquaSox mascot, seems to look dejected as his club got off to a very slow start in this one.

Franklin Barreto drops the bat as he lines a double to right field in the first inning.

C's manager John Schneider plays traffic cop as Roemon Fields is on his way home with the game's first run after a leadoff single. AquaSox pitcher Jeffrey Medina can only watch.

Alexis Maldonado waves toward Barreto at third base as a passed ball eludes Everett catcher Adam Martin. Barreto would cross the plate to make it 3-0 Vancouver in the first.

C's starter Alberto Tirado had trouble throwing strikes as he gave up a hit and issued three walks but kept Everett to a single run in the first. After throwing a lot of pitches, Tirado was pulled after the inning.

Francisco Gracesqui pitched the next 2.2 innings where he allowed a hit and three walks. He left the bases loaded in the fourth.

Chase Mallard entered the game and stranded all three runners. He would pitch 3.1 scoreless innings with four K's.

Chris Carlson makes the catch in right field to help Mallard and the C's keep Everett off the board in the fourth.

Roemon Fields steals second base, his 21st swipe of the season, as AquaSox second baseman Nelson Ward waits for the throw. Fields would score on a Tim Locastro double as part of a two-run inning.

The C's added four more runs in the ninth and celebrated a 10-1 victory over Everett to win the rubber match of the series.  Chase Mallard was credited with the victory. The two teams now head to Nat Bailey Stadium for a weekend set. The C's are trying to chase down Spokane for first place in the Northwest League North Division. Spokane has a three-game lead entering this weekend's action.
