A 500 night on the farm with Buffalo, Dunedin and Lansing winning. New Hampshire, Vancouver and the GCL team lost while Bluefield were rained out. Sean Nolin started for Buffalo and did OK, lots of hits but generally avoided big damage. Taylor Cole took the loss ut he pitched better than that sounds, he is acclimating to AA. Buffalo won by concentrating their hits in the first inning and hanging on. Lansing scored in the first two but added to it. Matt Dean and Mitch Nay led the offense. Christian Lopes and Jorge Saez led a big offensive night for Dunedin.

2014 draft lick Lane Thomas has been playing well in the GCL, good enough to get a promotion to Bluefield.

Buffalo 4 Durham 3

The Bisons scored four runs in the first inning. Andy LaRoche doubled with the bases loaded to score three runs. From there on the Bisons managed one more hit.

Sean Nolin pitched six innings and pitched well except for a tricky fourth inning when Durham scored three runs. That was all the scoring off Nolin in six innings, but he did get touched for eight hits. Rob Rasmussen pitched two shutout innings. Bobby Korecky got the save.

New Hampshire 1 Akron 3

Taylor Cole had a better second start for NH even though he took the loss. Cole had a bad second inning, a lead-off walk was followed by three singles and that led to two runs. Another run scored in the sixth on a wild pitch which followed a single. So, in two innings Cole gave up 4 hits and that was all the hits he allowed in the game. Cole's line was 7 4 3 3 3 6.

The Fisher Cats had only three hits. A home run by Cory Aldridge accounted for the only run. Jorge Flores had the other two hits.

Dunedin 6 Lakeland 4

There were 26 hits in this game, 14 for the good guys. Christian Lopes continued his recent hot streak with three hits and two runs scored. Jorge Saez also had three hits with one a triple. Nick Baligod, Gustavo Pierre and Pierce Rankin each had two hits.

Ben White went six innings and only gave up one run. Jonathon Wandling was hit around for three runs. Arik Sikula nailed down his 27th save.

West Michigan 5 Lansing 7

Like the Bisons the Lugnuts put of a four spot in the first. The key hit was a big 3 run home run from Matt Dean. Dean had another hit and another RBI and was 2-4 with 4 RBI's. Mitvh Nay went 3-4 with a double. Nay had six multi-hit games in his last eight. Derrick Lovless and DJ Davis also had two hits each.

Chase De Jong had a decent start, he went five innings, gave up three runs on six hits and three walks.

Vancouver 2 Tri-City 6

Vancouver trailed 3-0 early and could never get back. Chase Mallard started and he gave up the three runs. Alberto Tirado pitched two hitless innings but he walked four.

Five hits for the C's, all singles.

Princeton at Bluefield - postponed

n

A doubleheader will be played on Saturday.

GCL Phillies 7 GCL Blue Jays 0

The Jays were outhit 13-2 and with a 7-0 score you would think "time to move on, nothing to see here". There was one player of note, Jacob Brentz who started and pitched 4 innings, two hits, one walk, five K's, no runs. Brentz has has trouble with walks this year but he has now walked just five over his last four starts.
