Dunedin had the only win on Wednesday, an eighth inning four run burst won it. Conner Greene pitched six good innings. Lansing conceded four runs in the eighth in their wild game. They lost 14-12 with seven of their runs being unearned. Tom Robson had a rough start. Buffalo and New Hampshire lost tight games. Dalton Pompey had two more hits.

The two split season teams, Dunedin and Lansing, are a week away from the end of their first halves. Neither team will make the playoffs from the first half, they will have to play better in the second half.

Rochester 3 Buffalo 1

With Wade LeBlanc and Tommy Milone on the mound you would expect a tight game and it was. LeBlanc went seven innings and gave up two runs on five hits. Unfortunately for him he allowed three hits, one a double, in one inning and that was the inning that produces two runs. Ryan Tepera was responsible for the third run, in the ninth, with a walk and a single.

Darrell Ceciliani had three hits and the only RBI. Junior Lake had one hit and scored the only run. Dalton Pompey had two hits, a walk and two K's. Steve Wickens, from Whitby, Ontario, is hitting .203 for Rochester.

Richmond 4 New Hampshire 3

Both teams had eleven hits, all of the Fisher Cats hits were singles, Richmond had a homer and two doubles. John Anderson was the starter for New Hampshire. He pitched like Casey Lawrence, lots of hits, no walks, a few strikeouts and runs. Anderson was charged with all four runs on ten hits over six innings. His ERA is 5.20 and he hasn't found a hot streak yet this year. Matt Dermody pitched two innings and preserved his zero ERA. In AA Dermody has pitched 9.2 innings with five hits and one walk. He has nine K's, a good start in AA.

Dwight Smith singled in Jorge Flores for the first run in the third inning. In the fifth inning Melky Mesa and Rowdy Tellez singled in runs but the inning ended with Mesa out at home on a throw and that could have been the game tying run. Smith, Mesa and Roemen Fields had two hits each.

St Lucie 2 Dunedin 6

The Jays led 2-1 going to the eighth. Colton Turner loaded the bases with three ground balls and added a wild pitch to let the Mets tie the game. In the bottom of the eighth Ryan McBroom led off with a double. Anthony Alford walked. Emilio Guerrero delivered the big hit, a two run double. Dickie Thon singled in run five and Anthony Davis doubled in the last run. Guerrero also drove in the first run. Richard Urena doubled in the second run. McBroom, Guerrero, Urena and Thon each had two hits.

Conner Greene had a good start, six punch-outs in six innings. That tied his high for the season. Greene walked three and gave up five hits. Carlos Ramirez pitched the ninth.

Lansing 12 Lake County 14

Lansing scored four runs in the top of the first and with Tom Robson on the mound, coming back down to Lansing, it looked good for the Lugnuts. But Robson was not good and after two innings Robson was done and Lansing trailed 7-4. But then they scored five in the top of the third to take a 10-8 lead. They held a lead until the bottom of the eighth when four runs put Lake County up for good. All 14 runs conceded by Lansing were earned, but only 5 of Lansing's 12 runs were earned, the Captains made six errors.

As mentioned Robson gave up seven runs in two innings. This was his first start after a spell on the DL, he has some catching up to do. Ryan Cook gave up three more but it was Dan Lietz who took the loss with four runs conceded in the eighth. The hitters had eleven hits for their 12 runs but there were six errors and seven walks. Gunnar Heidt, Jake Thomas and Juan Kelly each had two hits. Lane Thomas had a two run home run.
