The Blue Jays will have just one team in the playoffs this season. That team is the Dunedin Jays who will face off against the Tampa Yankees on Tuesday. All other teams have been eliminated and as a result Sundays games were pretty insipid. With the season end upon us some teams are just going through the motions and all the affiliates lost.

Buffalo 0 Pawtucket 1

Buffalo are limping to the end of the season, losing 15 of 18. This game was played in a brisk two hours and two minutes. The Bisons were no hit through six innings. They ended with just three singles.

Scott Copeland was the hard luck loser. He struck out the first hitter who reached on a wild pitch. Copeland later messed up a pick off at second base allowing the runner to score. Copeland went six innings, a three hitter. Bo Schultz and Aaron Loup each pitched an inning.

Portland 7 New Hampshire 2

Wilmer Font was hit around, eight hits and six runs in six innings. He didn't walk anyone and had eight K's. But two of the hits he allowed were home runs. Starlyn Suriel, with a late season promotion, gave up a solo home run over two innings.

Dwight Smith Jr has heated up at the end of the season. He had two doubles. Christian Lopes had two singles. Richard Urena had a double, Rowdy Tellez was hitless, he did walk and was hit by a pitch.

Clearwater 9 Dunedin 6

The Jays won on Saturday to ensure their place in the playoffs so this game didn't matter. These teams were scheduled to play two but with the second game being academic it was decided to just play one. This was also the final regular season game of the season for both teams. Brad Allen started and gave up five runs, although only two were earned. The Jays made four errors. Francisco Rios and Justin Shafer allowed two runs each.

Dickie Jo Thon and Matt Dean finished with two hits each.

Lansing 3 Lake County 0

Lansing were eliminated from the playoffs just before this game started when Great Lakes won their afternoon game. TJ Zeuch gave up a two run home run in the first inningvand three total over five innings. He did punch out seven. Jordan Romano followed and pitched two shutout innings.

The Lugnuts had just five hits, JB Woodman had two.

Vancouver 5 Tri-City 6 - 10 innings

Dalton Rodriguez started for the Canadians who faced former Jay Hansel Rodriguez. Dalton fared better, pitching five innings and conceding one run. New pro Taylor Durand gav up three runs in the sixth but all were unearned preserving his zero ERA. The losing pitcher was Grayson Huffman whose final pitch led to the exciting walk off wild pitch.

On the hitting side Nash Knight had three hits. David Jacob had two, a double and a triple. DJMcKnight also had two hits but made an error in the three run sixth.

Three Stars

Third Star - David Jacob

Second Star - Scott Copeland

First Star - Dwight Smith

Boxes

On Saturday Rowdy Tellez hit his 23rd home run, Dwight Smith Jr hit his 15th. Shane Dawson had an excellent start, two runs allowed over seven innings. Dunedin beat Clearwater to make the playoffs. The Jays scored a run in the ninth to tie the game and a run in the eleventh to win. Matt Dean had three hits. In Lansing Justin Maese had seven K's over 5.2 shutout innings. For Vancouver Nash Knight had four RBI, Patrick Murphy wasn't efficient but pitched shutout ball for 4.1 innings.

On Friday Tellez hit his 22nd home run. Max Pentecost hit his second for Dunedin. Cavan Biggio and JB Woodman each had two hits for Lansing.
