The Dunedin Blue Jays saw their season come to a heartbreaking end Thursday night.

Tampa 9 Dunedin 8

Dunedin, FL
- Despite having home field for all three games and a three-run lead in the third and deciding game, the D-Jays could not advance to the Florida State League final. Ryan McBroom got the Jays rolling with a solo home run in the second to tie the game at 1-1. Jorge Flores singled home the second run by bringing in a David Harris double to draw the Jays to within a run in the fifth. The Jays grabbed a 6-3 lead with a four-run sixth that started with back-to-back doubles by John La Prise and Jonathan Davis. Mike Reeves doubled home a pair of runs and Jorge Flores singled home another but Harris was thrown out at the plate to end the rally. When the Jays batted again in the seventh, they were down three runs. Max Pentecost singled home a run that inning and doubled home another run in the ninth but Mike Reeves and Matt Dean struck out to end the game. Flores led the Jays with three hits while Pentecost, La Prise, Jonathan Davis and McBroom had two apiece with Davis getting a walk. Harris had a hit and a walk and Dean walked twice. Reeves and Anthony Alford were 1-for-5. D.J. Davis was 0-for-1 pinch-hitting.

Conor Fisk (0-1, 16.20) was crushed for all nine runs on nine hits, including a pair of three-run homers, and a walk over five-plus innings. He struck out five and got four of his seven outs in play on the ground. Dusty Isaacs gave the Jays a chance with three shutout frames of two-walk ball that included one strikeout.
