Another awful road trip finds the Blue Jays needing a big homestand here to get back into the AL East race. They dropped two of three in Baltimore before pulling a no-show in Houston in a four-game set to drop their record to 17-22, dead last in the division but only five games back of the division-leading Yankees. The Angels lost in Baltimore Sunday but still took two out of three from the Orioles to stay above .500 at 19-18, 5-1/2 games behind the Astros for first place in the AL West.

The New York Yankees come to Toronto for a big three game series. It is early in the season but this week is setting up as a pivotal week for the Jays. Along with the Yankees, the Red Sox come to town this week and these six games could say a lot about this team. A 4-2 week, or better, will steady the ship. A 2-4 week, or worse, will raise the angst level to extra high.

They have lost their last four three-game sets two games to one, including a series loss to Kansas City at Progressive Field.

Speaking of poor performance the Jays try and right the ship after three losses in Tampa.
