NOTES

Make it three very good July appearances for Anders Tolhurst. For the month he has a 2.25 ERA and a 0.63 WHIP. On Saturday he went five innings with two runs allowed on four hits with four K's. Ryan Jennings got the last four outs with just a walk on his record.

Buffalo had six hits, Yohendrick Pinango homered, Alan Roden and Jonatan Clase had a double each.

NH had a bullpen game, three pitchers combined on a five hitter. For the offense Charles McAdoo doubled twice, Cade Doughty and Ryan McCarty had two hits each, Alex Stone had three. Somerset made four errors so half of the NH runs were unearned.

Vancouver scored five runs in the top of the fourth but then conceded five in the bottom of the inning. The C's then scored four in the top of the fifth and held the lead to the end of the game. Arjun Nimmala had a pair of ground rule doubles and walked. Sean Keys hit a grand slam home run in that fifth inning. Victor Arias singled three times out of the lead-off spot.

Jackson Wentworth pitched well through three innings but walked a pair in the fourth. He then left the game with an injury. Tyler Zickel thought it might be a leg injury and possibly a cramp due to the heat. Edinson Batista came on in relief and gave up a home run.

Johnny King started for Dunedin. He struck out seven in four innings. But, five hits and three walks made for eight base runners. Savant shows that King had 16 whiffs on 35 hitter swings. King did use five pitches with the sinker accounting for 60%. Sliders were 22% and the curveball 12%. He also threw a couple of 4 seamers and change-ups. Ten of the whiffs were on the sinker. The sinker averaged 94 mph and peaked at 96.

The D Jays had five hits, two each for Edward Duran and Tucker Toman.

The FCL game went to an extra inning. The Tigers scored a run in the top of the inning. Then young Andres Arias stepped up to launch a two run, game winning, walk off home run.

Eric Pardinho, on rehab, started and got four outs.
