New Hampshire Fisher Cats

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats jumped out to a 2-0 lead in this contest but ended up losing 5-2 in Friday's game against the Portland Sea Dogs.

Nate Baez’s three-run homer gave the Sea Dogs the lead in the bottom of the third, and they got another pair of hits in the bottom of the fourth to score two more, making it 5-2.

The Fisher Cats and Sea Dogs have two more games in their series, with Richard Gallardo up against the Sea Dogs John Holobetz today at 1:00pm ET.

Dunedin Blue Jays

Nolan Perry tossed a strong game for the Blue Jays, and Eric Snow and Enmanuel Bonilla put their bats to work in Dunedin’s 9-2 victory over the St. Lucie Mets Friday.

Perry allowed a lead-off triple, then shut down 13 straight batters while striking out six and allowing a run, two hits, and two walks across almost five innings of work.

Snow went 2-3 with 2 RBI’s, a double and two walks, and Bonilla was 2-4 with an RBI and a walk. Bonilla has hit safely in five straight now for Dunedin, while Snow reached base four times in this contest.

St. Lucie and Dunedin will play a doubleheader today, with pitchers to be determined for both games. Game one starts at 4pm ET, and no time is listed for Game Two.

Vancouver Canadians

The Vancouver Canadians have only one win to show for their start to their Northwest League season as they lost 6-5 to the Eugene Emeralds on Friday afternoon.

After exploding for 14 runs and their lone victory of the season on Thursday, Eugene took this game in extra innings despite Vancouver having two runners on and a chance to win in the bottom of the tenth.

Vancouver is now 1-6 on the year and 1-3 in this series against Eugene. The two teams play two more afternoon games at Nat Bailey to end the weekend.

Colby Holcombe will start Saturday’s game against the Emeralds with Yunior Marte getting the ball for Eugene.

Buffalo Bisons

The Buffalo Bisons beat the Syracuse Mets 7-1 on Friday thanks to a pair of home runs, including one from Riley Tirotta, a two-run shot, and a grand slam from Josh Rivera.

After a walk by RJ Schreck in the second, Tirotta hit his first dinger of the season to make it 2-0. Josh Rivera then followed up with a two-out double, and William Simoniet doubled him home to make it 3-0.

Schreck, Tirotta, and Josh Kasevich would all reach base in the third, and Rivera blasted a grand slam to make 7-0.

The tarp was put on the field due to rain in the sixth, and the game was ultimately called, giving The Bisons the victory.

Buffalo has won three of four in this series, with the two teams playing again today at 1:05pm. CJ Van Eyk will take the ball for the Bisons against the Mets, Carl Edwards Jr.
