Off to Anaheim to face the (checks current name) Los Angels Angels (aka Anaheim Angels, aka Los Angles Angels of Anaheim, aka California Angels).
Pitching Matchups...
- Game #1: 9:38 PM - Cease vs LHP Detmers
- Game #2: 9:38 PM - Corbin vs RHP Kochanowicz
- Game #3: 3:07 PM - Lauer vs RHP Soriano (1580 ERA+ - yep, 1580 thanks to a 0.28 ERA, 1 run in 32 2/3 IP)
The Angels are off to a heavenly start - 11-12 just 1/2 a game out - hey, for them that is WOW. Trout has a 180 OPS+ despite a 234 Avg. 2 others at 150+ OPS+ in Adam Frasier (2B/LF) and 2B Oswald Peraza. At 1B Nolan Schanuel has had issues (80 OPS+), same for C Logan O'Hoppe (77) and LF Josh Lowe (59). Ex-Jay prospect Travis d'Arnaud is a backup catcher there and we miss Kikuchi who is still starting for them (78 ERA+). Romano is their closer with a 7.11 ERA thanks to a horrid game vs the Yankees.
Jays just 2 1/2 out of the Wild Card, 4 1/2 out of first despite a LOT of the team being injured. Lukes hot weekend (now that his vertigo is being treated) got his OPS+ up to 43, just over Valenzuela and his 42. The team leader in OPS+ is Miles Straw at 150 (!!!). Yeah, this year is weird so far.
