New Hampshire Fisher Cats

The offence and pitching were firing on all cylinders in this one for New Hampshire in their 9-0 win over the Reading Fightin Phils on Friday.

Jay Harry and Jace Bohrofen had three RBI’s each, and Sean Keys blasted another home run in this one. Keys was the Eastern League Player of the Week this past week and now has 9 home runs on the year. The club record for home runs in the month of April was six.

Richard Gallardo and Alex Amalfi allowed six hits combined on the mound, with Gallardo throwing five shutout innings and Amalfi allowing only the one hit in the four innings he pitched.

The Fishers Cats and Fighting Phils have two more games in their series with Fernando Perez facing off against Luke Russo today at 5:15pm ET.

Dunedin Blue Jays

Dunedin were 5-4 losers Friday, thanks to a Fort Myers four-run fifth inning that proved to be the difference.

Dunedin did get a single run in the top of the ninth, but that was as close as they would come to erasing the Mighty Mussels lead.

Dunedin did hold a 3-1 lead before the four-run fourth by Fort Myers.

Fort Meyers and Dunedin play today at 6:05pm ET with Jonathan Stevens pitching for the Mighty Mussels and Brandon Barriera on the mound for the Blue Jays.

Vancouver Canadians

The Vancouver Canadians had their five-game win streak snapped with an extra-innings loss to the Tri-City Dust Devils on Friday.

Vancouver lost 3-0 in extra innings thanks to a Randy De Jesus home run in the 10th, and is now 9-10 on the year.

Johnny King, the Toronto Blue Jays number four prospect according to MLB Pipeline, threw 57 pitches while walking three and striking out four. He now has a 0.87 ERA.

Holden Wilkerson and Jay Schueler combined for six strong innings after that, totalling four strikeouts between them and scattering a couple of hits over those frames.

The two teams will play today and Sunday to wrap up their six-game set. Austin Cates will go for the Canadians against the #1 Angels prospect, Tyler Bremner. Game time is 1:05pm.

The Canadians continue their home stand through May 3rd with a six-game set against the Hillsboro Hops after their series against Tri City.

Buffalo Bisons

The Columbus Clippers held a 6-0 lead after two innings in Friday’s contest and would go on to beat the Buffalo Bisons 12-6.

It wasn’t until the fourth that Charles McAdoo’s homer made it 8-1 Clippers that the Bisons got on the board. The Herd would score three in that inning and three more in the sixth, but Columbus had a 10-3 lead by that point in the game, and it was all but over.

Today’s game is postponed due to rain and will be made up on April 26th.
