Matt Scannell’s walk-off double gave the Vancouver Canadians a 4-3 extra-inning win on a Friday Nooner at Nat Bailey Stadium.
Arjun Nimmala was placed on second as the extra innings placed runner, and he came home after Scannell’s hit.
The Hillsboro Hops Trent Youngblood blasted a home run out of Nat Bailey on the game’s first pitch to make it 1-0, and Adrian Rodriguez hit another in the fourth to make it 3-0.
Austin Cates tossed 5.1 innings in this game, the longest start for a Vancouver pitcher this year. He gave up two home runs as well as four walks and had four strikeouts.
The two teams will play today and Sunday to wrap up their six-game set. Landen Maroudis (0-0 1.69 ERA) will go for the Canadians against Caden Grice (0-1 3.97 ERA).
New Hampshire scored six in the bottom of the first and beat the Binghamton Rumble Ponies 11-4 on Friday.
Richard Gallardo went six innings for the Fisher Cats, allowing two earned runs and striking out six, while Alex Amalfi pitched the final three to get his second save of the season. Gallardo had not pitched six innings since 2023.
Jace Bohrofen has a 22-game on-base streak going after this one, while Aaron Parker got his first Double-A home run. Jackson Hornung hit another home run three batters after Parker to give New Hampshire an 11-2 lead in the seventh.
Jay Harry and Cutter Coffey also deserve mention as Harry had two runs, two hits and three RBI’s while Coffey’s RBI single made it 9-2 in the fifth.
The Fishers Cats and Rumble Ponies have two more games in their series with Fernando Perez (0-1, 9.00 ERA) facing off against Jordan Santucci (0-3 5.71 ERA) today at 1:05 PM ET.
The Dunedin Blue Jays were 14-6 losers thanks to the Jupiter Hammerheads scoring three runs in each of the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings on Friday.
Dunedin led 2-0 after the first, but Jupiter got four in the top of the second and one in the third to lead 5-2 after three.
Jupiter and Dunedin play today at 6:30 pm ET time with Walin Castillo (1-0, 1.65 ERA) on the mound for Jupiter and Troy Guthrie (0-1, 3.00 ERA) for the Blue Jays.
The Scranton/WB RailRiders scored single runs in the second and third innings to beat the Buffalo Bisons 2-0 on Friday in Game One of the two teams’ doubleheader.
Buffalo won the second game 8-3 thanks to a five-run first inning and Grant Rogers ' first-ever Triple-A victory.
Chad Dallas allowed two runs on five hits in Game One for Buffalo and struck out two. He is now 0-2 with a 4.29 ERA on the season.
The two teams are playing again today at 3:05 PM EDT. CJ Van Eyk (1-1, 3.52 ERA) will take the ball for the Bisons against the Railriders, Brendan Beck (2-2 5.70 ERA).
