NOTES

Buffalo had excellent pitching, they only gave up one run until there were two outs in the ninth. The lead batter took Chad Dallas deep and the Bisons were down 1-0. Dallas went on to pitch four innings with five K's. The Bisons scored all their runs runs in the second inning with five hits. In the game Josh Rivera went three for three, RJ Schreck and Riley Tirotta had two hits each.

Vancouver built a 7-0 lead before Everett scored two in the ninth. Nolan Perry was outstanding, five shutout innings, ten K's. Everett had three hits and three walks.

For the offense Carter Cunningham hit his eighth home run, a two run shot. He also doubled. Brennan Orf and Peyton Williams also had two hits each.

Troy Guthrie got back on the wagon after his last, bad, start, In this game he was taken deep twice in five innings but he held Tampa to three runs, not bad. He didn't walk anyone and struck out six. The D Jays actually outhit Tampa 9-5 but those home runs made the difference, Dunedin did not have a home run.

Blaine Bullard had two hits and his bat is showing signs of improvement. He was hitting just over .200 on April 26 but he picked up five hits over the last three April games and now he is hitting .256 in May. Bullard struck out 33 times in April in 77 at-bats, a rate over 40%. In May it's 11 K's in 39 at bats, just over 25%. Its good to see the improvement.

Oakville's Owen Gregg also had two hits bringing his average to .333. Gregg, recently promoted to Dunedin, is not an everyday player there, yet, but if he continues to hit he could force the Jays hand.

The FCL Jays pitchers had a bad day. Sann Omosako took one on the chin, seven runs allowed in three innings. The Jays did score eight runs with eleven hits. Three players hit their first home runs of the season, Renyel Campos, Angel Guzman and Pascual Archila. Archila also singled and walked twice. The 19 yo Venezuelan is a shorter (5'10") outfielder without much pop. But he is hitting .375 with an OPS over 1100. He is helped right now by a high BABIP, will it continue?
