Corey Thurman comes off the DL, New Haven plays to a fleet of empty seats, Dunedin's bats finally come around, and the Alley-Cats get more good pitching.

- Corey Thurman returned from the disabled list with a short but fine outing in the second game of a doubleheader against Richmond. Thurman threw 2 2/3 innings, allowing no runs, one hit and one walk, striking out four. But the Chiefs were swept in the twinbill, 4-1 and 1-0. (Games of May 20, BTW -- there were no International League games last night)

- The Ravens fell 4-1 to Altoona, as Pete Walker got knocked around in another rehab inning. Rich Thompson was the star with three hits and a tumbling, over-the-fence catch in right field. But only 100 fans showed up to see the lame-duck Ravens at Yale Field.

- Dunedin's bats finally woke up in the second half of their own doubleheader. After losing the opener 1-0 to Palm Beach, the D-Jays delivered a 12-3 thrashing in the nightcap, as Mike Snyder doubled twice and homered. The pitching news was all good, however: Dustin McGowan lost the opener but pitched a gem: 7 IP, 5 H, 0 BB, 9 K. David Bush followed up with 6 innings of 5-hit, no-run ball, walking nobody and striking out 6. Dustin and David have K'ed 22% and 20%, respectively, of the batters they've faced.

- Charleston lost in 10 innings, 2-1 to Hagerstown. Israel Ramirez threw 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits and 3 walks, but struck out nobody. Miguel Negron's two hits pushed his average to .333, but he still has just that 1 walk in 87 AB.
