  1. Fordin Notes: de los Santos pitches in his first game, and the Jays made a secret deal with the Devil Rays that allows them to send Rule 5 draftee Tailey Haines to AAA. In a completely unrelated story Craig Burley, Mick Doherty, John Neary, and Spicol are leaving the Batter's Box to start a new blog called Talkin' 'bout our Rays.

  2. Larry Millson has similar information in "Blue Jays bump Haines to the minor leagues", but once again doesn't have the terms of the deal.

  3. Fordin comments on Halladay's positive outlook in "Halladay looks on the bright side". Some things in life are bad. They can really make you mad. Other things just make you swear and curse. When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble, give a whistle.

  4. Toronto lost a tough one (well, as tough as exhibition games get) against the Twins yesterday afternoon. MLB.com has a write-up and a boxscore.

  5. The Sun has the AP report from yesterday's game.

  6. The Globe has Larry Millson's game report (sans boxscore).

  7. Bad news for the rest of the American League: Williams might return to Yankees on Monday.

  8. Geoff Baker has an interesting little story about Reed Johnson and Shannon Stewart in "Johnson Stewart's protege: Former Jay took his replacement under his wing". You'd think a Star story about Shannon Stewart would take several shots at the Jays front office and us statheads, but this article was quite nice.

So did anyone watch any hockey games last night? I can't believe my Flames might actually make the playoffs this year!
