You've got the bases loaded, two outs. You've racked up a 2-0 count against a pitcher that is struggling to find the strikezone. Unless the next pitch is a 75 mile per hour "fastball" down the middle of the plate, are you going to swing? Oh well, all good things must come to an end eventually. Next winning streak starts this afternoon. How long will this one be?

  1. If you missed the game because you were watching hockey, you'll need to read these game summaries: Robert Falkoff's "Jays' offense missing in loss to KC", Dick Kaegel's "Streak stops here as KC beats Jays", some anonymous Globe Writer's "Toronto winning streak ends as Halladay tagged for loss", Geoff Baker's "Jays' streak screeches to halt", and CP's "Royals end Jays' win streak".

  2. Fordin Notes (Where is Mr. Fordin anyway?) on Justin Speier being put on the DL, Aquilino Lopez sent up, Woody's apparent re-injury, and a win by Class A Dunedin.

  3. It's a battle of lefties tonight, as the 2-2 Ted Lilly for the 14-19 Blue Jays faces the 0-3 Jeremy Affeldt for the 10-21 Royals. It's a 2:10PM EST start at Kaufmann. Robert Falkoff has a game preview.

  4. Baseball dates back to at least the 18th century, as a "newly discovered bylaw shows".
