Just how bad it had gotten
And just how sick I had become

This week the Jays have 3 against Seattle and 4 against Oakland, and they're all away games. If the Jays can take 4 or 5 of those 7 games, they should be able to gain ground on Baltimore. The Orioles, who are three games ahead of the Jays in the standings, have 3 against the Yankees, 3 against the Devil Rays, and one against the Red Sox this week.

  1. Tough loss yesterday, as the Jays left over a couple of hockey teams on the bases and misplayed a couple of balls in the outfield. A number of reporters have the fangorious details including Spencer Fordin: "Blue Jays can't pick up six", Jeff Blair: "RANGERS 4, BLUE JAYS 2" (headline writer must have called in sick), Mark Zwolinski: "Jays feel stranded after loss to Texas" and Shi Davidi: "Jays can't cash in against Texas ".

  2. Fordin Notes bring good news on the health of Carlos Delgado. He could be back as early as Tuesday. There's also notes on Justin Miller's hamstring problems and the "singing" of William Hung.

  3. In case you missed it: Spencer Fordin has a Jays draft preview.

Richard Griffin discusses the health of the Jays big slugger in "Delgado injury adds to Jays woes".

  4. It's a late start tonight, so those of you watching the hockey game should only miss the first 3 innings or so. The 2-3 Pat Hentgen for the 22-28 Blue Jays faces the crafty 3-2 lefty Jamie Moyer for the 18-31 Mariners. Yes Boobirds, there are teams with worse records than the Jays. It's a 10:05 start in Seattle; Spencer Fordin has more details in his game preview.

  5. The Expos beat an overachieving Reds team 6-2 yesterday.

  6. In the "What are they thinking?" department "Mondesi returns as an Angel".

So now that the Jays are playing on the road, what are the Cheer Clubbers going to do?
