There's a wind in my sails
Will protect and prevail

The bluebirds had an off-day yesterday, so there's no game action to report.

  1. Dave Perkins of the Star says what many of us have been thinking in "Cheek in need of a prayer: Jays announcer has brain tumour". Between this and the loss of his father, this must be an incredibly difficult time in Mr. Cheek's life, but I know he has the strength and dignity to make it through it. If you haven't already, you can send your thoughts to Tom in our Tom Cheek: Best Wishes thread.

  2. The Jays start the first of a three game series tonight in San Francisco. Tonight's 10:05 PM EST matchup features the 7-2 Jason Schmidt for the 32-31 Giants vs. the 4-4 Miguel Batista for the 28-35 Blue Jays. Spencer Fordin has a lengthy game preview. The Canadian Press also has a game preview. Bob Elliott is not very optimistic in his series preview.

  3. Geoff Baker talks to Bob File in "Degree or not degree? Jays trio knows". After two years of injuries, it's good to see File in a Jays in uniform again. We're all rooting for you, Bob!

  4. Another recent callup from Syracuse is looking good as well. After a couple weeks of struggles, Alex Rios turned it up a notch this weekend and had a few impressive hits. Shi Davidi talks to the rookie in "Young Jay is okay".
