You know me, I'm like into the clean stuff
Like PAC-MAN, and like, I don't know

Yesterday was an off-day, so there's not all that much to report. But here we go!

  1. Spencer Fordin looks back at the Jays recent slate of interleague games, but suggests the Jays are not in "Jays looking forward, not back".

  2. Tonight's 7:05PM EST start in Toronto should be a good one. The 32-34 Devil Rays (that doesn't sound right) are sending the 1-1 righty Chad Gaudin to the hill. The Jays counter with the 2-6 Pat Hentgen. Spencer Fordin has a game preview.

  3. You'll wonder if Geoff Baker has been reading the site (HI GEOFF!) after you read "Jays not ready yet to write off year". In the very first sentence Mr. Baker discusses what some on the Box have been calling for: "Anyone thinking the Blue Jays will once again "let the kids play'' for the rest of another lost season is sorely mistaken." He also discusses something I've been fearing by saying "There are rumours throughout the organization that team owner Rogers Communications will slash payroll again next season — an easier sell if everything about this year is blamed on injuries."

  4. Geoff Baker also recently talked to another former Jay in "The toned down Boomer".

  5. I'm filing this one in the "Pretty Unlikely" column: Bob Elliott's "Batista on block: Jays testing trade market". This makes zero sense to me. Why would you trade who will be quite useful not only this year, but next year (where the Jays could contend), and make your team a less attractive place for free agents? Would you want to sign with a team if you knew they were going to turn around and trade you three months later? I'd say this has a zero chance of happening. Where is Elliott getting this stuff?

As always, we'd like your thoughts.
