And I'm still standing here, and you're miles away
And I'm wonderin' why you left
And there's a storm that's raging through my frozen heart tonight

I hear your name in certain circles, and it always makes me smile
I spend my time thinkin' about you, and it's almost driving me wild
And there's a heart that's breaking down this long distance line tonight

Hey, the Jays held onto a big lead against the O's last night!

* Recaps:
Towers, Blue Jays crush O's - Fordin
Towers Becomes Ace - Rutsey
A lead that didn't slip away - Millson
Jay refrain: Towers and pray for showers - Ryan

Of course the Jays play in at SkyDome so even if it was raining they'd be playing, but I suppose Headline Writer would rather make a clever rhyming line.

Towers (9-4) was removed from the rotation in April, but he's gradually become Toronto's unlikely stopper. He's 6-0 in starts following a loss, and the latest victory gave him seven wins in his last eight starts.

"I don't know what's going on. I just want to keep putting good swings on the ball," said Hinske. "Hopefully, I'm finding my stroke the other way -- when I'm hitting it that way, that's when I'm getting locked in. That's a good sign for me."

* Notes:
Always seize the moment - Fordin
Blue Jay Notes - Woody Makes Bid - Rutsey

The shortstop snapped an 0-for-17 skid in Friday night's game, and came back to hit a grand slam later in the game. Woodward is still young enough to establish himself. However, Gibbons warned, if he doesn't do it soon, he risks being pigeonholed.

"He's got to take over the position or become a part-time guy. It's all about production, putting the best team on the field," he said. "I think there's a lot there that hasn't come out. He's got to do it, and he knows that. My heart tells me he will."

* Today's Game:
Blue Jays looking to repeat vs. O's - A rematch of last Sunday's game; rookie hurlers Bush and Cabrera take the hill for the Jays and Os respectively. Game time is 4:05.
