While the bats on the big club boomed, they fell silent for the farm affiliates on a 1-4 night.

Syracuse 2 Ottawa 3-14 innings

The Lynx scored the winning run after loading the bases with two out when Russ Adams' flip to second was too late. It had been a pitcher's duel, with the Sky Chiefs hitless after the 5th inning. Adams homered earlier, and Guillermo Quiroz doubled twice in six PAs and made some fine blocks with runners on third. Jorge Sequea walked three times. Mike Smith started and went six strong innings, allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits and 2 walks with 6 strikeouts. Mike Nakamura and Bob File pitched effectively for 3 and 2 innings, respectively. Jason Kershner allowed 7 baserunners in 2.2 innings and took the loss.
