A late homer was the highlight of a 1-2 day for the farm affiliates, as the offences struggled to score runs.

Pawtucket 3 Syracuse 4

Anton French's 8th inning homer broke a 3-3 tie and propelled the Sky Chiefs to victory. Francisco Rosario started and went 6 fine innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 4. Justin Miller gave up an unearned run in the top of the eighth on an Aaron Hill error, but pitched well for the win. Miller surrendered the one unearned run on 3 hits and no walks with 3 strikeouts. French was the offensive star with 2 triples, as well as his game-winning longball. Hill had a busy day, starting 2 double plays and throwing out a runner at the plate, as well as going 2-4. Gabe Gross went 2-4, and almost threw out a runner at the plate in the eighth, as Manager Marty Pevey was ejected arguing the call.

Bubbie Buzachero's return to the FSL was not a happy one, as he gave up an 8th inning homer that proved to be the only run of the game. Kurt Isenberg started and went 7 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 walks with 6 strikeouts. The D-Jay offence could only muster 1 hit by Robinson Diaz. Adam Lind DHed yesterday with Brian Patrick in left field, and Emmanuel Sena played third base, perhaps for defensive reasons.

The Lugnuts could not score in support of hard-luck loser Chi-Hung Cheng until the 9th inning. It was too little, too late. Cheng went 4.2 innings and allowed 1 unearned run on 2 hits and 5 walks while punching 8 tickets. Adrian Martin was hit hard in 2.1 innings of relief, 8 hits and 3 earned runs. Mark Sopko closed out the game with 2 perfect innings and 1 strikeout. Curtis Thigpen had 2 of the Lugs' 4 hits and drove in a run in the ninth.
