4 teams had the night off. Dunedin got the win while Pulaski lost. Most importantly though, Guillermo Quiroz made his return as the D'Jays DH and was hit by two pitches. Did you wince when you read that? I sure did.

Brevard County 4, Dunedin 6

David Purcey got the start and surprise, surprise, he showed nasty, nearly unhittable stuff but had trouble finding the strikezone. 5.2 innings, 2 runs on 1 hit, 4 walks, 5 K's. Adam Lind, Carlo Cota, Robinson Diaz and Manny Mayorson each chipped in 2 hits. Danny Hill relieved Purcey with a man on and 2 out in the sixth and promptly gave up a homerun to tie the game. He did settle down after that and the Jays were able to pull away. Milton Tavarez picked up the save.

Box score

Pulaski 1, Elizabethton 5

The Jays only managed three hits, with two of them coming off the bat of Jonathan Jaspe. Leance Soto went 0 for 3 with 3 strikeouts to go along with his two errors. Ouch. Francisco Mateo started and went 6 solid innings giving up 2 runs (1 earned). Elizabethton pulled away after scoring once against Dennis Bigley and twice against Raymon Sanchez. Graig Badger singled home Jaspe for the Jays only run.

The Three Stars!

Third Star: Jonathon Jaspe - 2 of Pulaski's 3 hits.
Second Star: Adam Lind - 2 for 4, 2B, 2 RBI and a run scored.
First Star: Carlo Cota- 2 for 4, 2 2B, 1 RBI and two runs scored.
