...since Phoenix or Tucson. So, how are the Jay farmhands in Arizona doing, you ask? They started off slower than a coyote in the morning, but they're moving now.

The farmhands play for the Peoria Saguaros, who've put up a butt-ugly 8-21 record so far. The Jay position players are Adam Lind, Guillermo Quiroz and Ryan Roberts. Their statistics courtesy of are:

Lind .247/.310/.338
Quiroz .313/.353/.438
Roberts .264/.292/.473

Quiroz hit his first homer of the AFL season yesterday.

The Jays also contributed pitchers Steve Andrade and Bubbie Buzachero to the Saguaros. Andrade has probably been the team's best pitcher with an ERA of 4.50 in 12 innings, while allowing 1 homer and 7 walks but punching out 21. Andrade will be joining the US Olympic qualifying team after the AFL season. Buzachero has put up a better than average 5.09 ERA with 12 walks and 15 strikeouts in 17.1 innings.

The AFL season ends on Thursday.
