2 routs, 1 3-run victory and a nailbiter were the stories as the farm affiliates went 4-0.

Syracuse 5 @ Buffalo 4

Luis Figueroa's run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning broke a 4-4 tie, and the Chiefs held on for the victory. The Chiefs took a 4-1 lead to the bottom of the sixth inning, courtesy of a Kevin Barker RBI single, a double play grounder, a John-Ford Griffin double, and a Wayne Lydon single. But Jamie Vermilyea surrendered two runs in the bottom of the sixth and then Brian Tallet gave up the tying fourth run in the seventh, and that was the end of the scoring until the 13th. Adrian Burnside was superb, as he struck out seven and allowed 2 baserunners in 3 innings of work. Vinny Chulk came on in the 12th for the win and allowed 3 baserunners in 1.1 innings, but was rescued by Brandon League who earned the save. The Chiefs turned 4 double plays on the night. Old friend Tom "Nasty" Mastny was recently promoted by the Indians to triple A, and threw 2 scoreless innings yesterday. He is now pitching in relief, and has been very effective at double A and triple A.

New Hampshire 4 @ Portland 1

Ismael Ramirez got the better of DIPS theory with the aid of 12 ground ball outs on Saturday afternoon, and came out with a win. Ramirez allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits, including a solo homer, and 4 walks, while striking out 2. Rodney Ormond pitched a perfect 2 innings with 1 strikeout for the save. The Cats scored twice in the first on a Carlo Cota walk, followed by singles from Manny Mayorson, Adam Lind and Curtis Thigpen. New Hampshire added insurance runs in the eighth on walks to Lind and Thigpen, followed by a 2 run Maikel Jova double.

Dunedin 7 @ Jupiter 1

Ryan Klosterman and Dustin Majewski drove in 2 runs each as the D'Jays won in a cakewalk. Klosterman had 2 run-scoring doubles, while Majewski hit a 2 run tater in a 4 run Dunedin sixth inning outburst after a costly Jupiter error. Ryan Patterson and Chris Gutierrez also had 2 hits each. Eric Fowler went 8 shutout innings, on 3 hits and a walk, with 2 strikeouts. Daryl Harang gave up a meaningless run in the ninth. Fowler is now 4-2 with a 2.91 ERA and respectable ratios.

Fort Wayne 1 @ Lansing 11

The Lugnuts pounded out 16 hits, including 3 each from Cory Patton, Jacob Butler and Anthony Hatch, in a rout. Hatch doubled in Butler's double for the first run of the game in the second inning, and then hit a solo homer in the third. Cory Patton had a run-scoring single in the fifth and then put the game away with a 2 run shot in the sixth. Aaron Tressler started and fell one out short of a win, going 4.2 innings while allowing an unearned run on 7 hits and a walk with 4 strikeouts. Sean Stidfole picked him in fine fashion, going 3.1 innings and allowing 2 baserunners while punching out 4 Wizard batters. Adrian Martin mopped up in the ninth with efficiency.

3-star selection!

3rd star- Adrian Burnside
2nd star-Eric Fowler
1st star-Anthony Hatch
