Josh Kreuzer homered for Dunedin in the sixth to make it a one run game. Vero Beach got that run back in the bottom of the sixth and it was unearned. An error by Kreuzer on a pickoff attempt allowed the runner to move to second. A sac bunt and a sac fly allowed the run to score. Clinton 3 Lansing 2
AJ Wideman was due to start this game but he pitched for Dunedin instead. Adrian Martin started and allowed one run in two innings. Ben Harrison followed and also pitched two innings allowing two runs. Lansing had only one hit through five innings but in the sixth Yuber Rodriguez led off with a single. Jonathan Jaspe followed with an RBI double and then a Scott Campbell single put runners on first and third. Jonathan Diaz then ground into a double play scoring the second run but emptying the bases. Travis Snider singled to lead off the ninth as the potential tying run, then moved to second on a ground out and stayed there when Sean Shoffit struck out. Snider was then picked off second and got caught in a rundown trying to get to third, he was out to end the game, breaking the cardinal rule, "don't make the third out of the inning at third base."
Travis Snider was 1-3, Sean Shoffit went 2-4. Seth Overbey pitched two perfect innings, on the season he has pitched 16.2 shutout innings with six hits and three walks allowed, with 16 strikeouts. Overbey has indeed pitched very well and has a 5.6 GB/FB ratio.
