Chip Cannon was slow to get going last season, and again this year, but yesterday he scored three runs and drove in three.  Syracuse ran their win streak to eight games with a run in the bottom of the ninth.  Lansing won behind a home run from Yuber Rodriguez.  Dunedin suffered the lone loss.

Columbus 5  Syracuse 6

Syracuse ran their win streak to eight games with a win in the bottom of the ninth.  In a tied game Ryan Roberts walked to lead off the ninth, Russ Adams bunted him to second, Kevin Barker was walked to set up the double play.  Chad Mottola singled to right but Abraham Nunez threw Roberts out at home, with the runners going to second and third.  With two out John-Ford Griffin singled in the infield to score the winning run, when things are going well you win in any and every way possible.

The Chiefs first three runs came on home runs by Griffin, Wayne Lydon and Adams, and a fourth on an error.  Ismael Ramirez started for Syracuse and held Columbus scoreless for three innings before giving up four runs in the fourth and getting pulled.  Jim Crowell, Justin James and Blaine Neal pitched well to keep the Chiefs close.  Justin James pitched 2.2 innings and now has an ERA of 0.60 at AAA.

Mottola and Griffin had two hits each.

New Hampshire 8  New Britain 5

New Hampshire scored in five of the first six innings on their way to fourteen hits.  The biggest hit was a two run home run by Chip Cannon, his eighth.  Cannon had two hits and scored three runs with three RBI's.  Manny Mayorson went 3-6; David Smith, Dustin Majewski and Ryan Klosterman had two hits each.

Russell Savickas pitched 6.2 innings for the win allowing four runs on eight hits with no K's.  Gronk recorded his tenth save.

Dunedin 5  Daytona 9

Dunedin took a 5-2 lead to the bottom of the seventh.  Brandon Magee had pitched six innings giving up two runs on six hits.  Sean Stidfole went homer, error, single.  Daryl Harang went single, single.  Ted Serro went walk, single, single.  Three relievers, no outs, Daytona scored seven runs.  Dunedin had one baserunner in the last two innings.

For Dunedin Anthony Hatch was 3-4 with two RBI's.  Carlo Cota had two hits.

Lansing 4  Dayton 2

Nathan Starner had a typical Starner start, six innings, nine hits, two runs, one earned.  Julio Pinto and Paul Phillips held Dayton hitless over the last three innings.  In the third inning Lansing scored three runs, Chris Emanuele singled, Jon Diaz had an RBI double and Yuber hit a two run home run.  In the ninth Shoffit singled, stole second base and scored on a Matt Lane single.  Emanuele went 3-4, Yuber was 2-4.

Eddie Guardado pitched a shutout inning for Dayton.
