Ugly Night in the Minors

The Jays didn't get a win in the minors yesterday until going all the way down to the GCL.

Rochester 1 at Syracuse 0

A pair of three hitters last night in Syracuse. Josh Banks gave up a leadoff homer, but that was it in 8 innings. Banks struck out 5 and walked none.

Kevin Slowey shut down the Chiefs last night. Russ Adams did the most damage with a double and walk.


Portland 13 at NH 1

Ricky Romero had a rough outing giving up 5 runs in 2.1 innings. None of the relievers fared much better.

NH managed just one run on their ten hits. Ryan Patterson had a couple of doubles.


Dunedin 1 at Brevard County 3

AJ Wideman had a decent start giving up just 2 runs over 7 innings. He gave up 6 hits, walked none, and struck out 1. Wideman has a decent ERA at 3.92, but his K rate is just 5.6/9 innings.

The D-Jays managed just 5 singles from 5 different players.


Burlington 4 at Lansing 2

Zach Dials started for the Nuts and gave up 3 runs (1 earned) over 6 innings.

Yuber Rodriguez had three hits on the night while Emanuele and Campbell each had two.


Vermont 7 at Auburn 1

Shane Benson got the start and gave up 6 runs over 4 innings, including two HRs. He struck out 4 and walked 1.

Manny Rodriguez continued his hot hitting with two hits.


GCL Phillies 0 at GCL Blue Jays 4

And the best for last. 19th round pick Brian Letko continued to put good numbers on the board. He threw 5 scoreless innings giving up 4 hits and a walk while striking out 5.

John Tolisano homered again, his 5th of the short season. He's only hitting .203, but is showing good pop with an ISO Slg % of .202. He also committed his 7th error. RF Moises Sierra also homered while Y Chavez had two hits.
