Seriously. It was a bloodbath. The Jays just can't hit right now... from the majors right on down.

Buffalo 8 Syracuse 1
Sad but true, Syracuse’s offensive output was the highlight of the night for the affiliates. Curtis Thigpen was 2-for-4 as he tries to come back from a terrible April. Hector Luna had three singles and was caught stealing. Chip Cannon was 1-for-3 with a run scored, a double and his customary two strikeouts. Russ Adams was 0-for-4. Starter Davis Romero had his first bad outing of the season and he allowed seven runs on seven hits in 2.1 innings of work. He walked one, struck out two and allowed four homers. Brandon League worked 1.2 scoreless innings and allowed two hits. Mike MacDonald allowed one run on four hits over three innings. Joe Matumoto pitched two scoreless innings.

Portland 5 New Hampshire 1
Portland’s Kris Johnson held the Fisher Cats to three hits and no runs over five innings of work, for his third win of the season. His opponent, Brandon Magee of New Hampshire, allowed two runs on six hits over 5.2 innings of work. He walked three and struck out three to fall to 0-5. Jamie Vermilyea pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief and walked two. Zach Dials was roughed up in the eighth and allowed three runs on four hits and a walk. He also struck out three batters. After managing a pitiful one hit last night, the Fisher Cats “exploded” for three on Thursday night. Aaron Mathews, Ryan Patterson, and Brian Jeroloman racked up the hits. Chris Gutierrez and David Smith both had two walks.

Palm Beach 5 Dunedin 1
Dunedin’s mini win streak ended at three as the club managed only five hits on the night. Conversely, Kenny Rodriguez allowed seven hits and three runs in 5.1 innings. He walked one and struck out four to fall to 1-4. Chad Blackwell pitched 1.2 scoreless innings and Brian Pettway was roughed up. He allowed two runs on three hits in one inning of work. Adam Calderone was 3-for-4 with a run scored, double, triple, and solo homer. Marcos Cabral and Al Quintana had the other two hits for Dunedin.

West Michigan 2 Lansing 0
Lansing continued the lackluster offensive night for the affiliates as the club managed only three hits against Ramon Garcia, who threw a shutout. Justin Jackson, John Tolisano, and Manny Rodriguez had the hits. Tolisano had the only extra base hit - a double. Darin Mastroianni was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Starter Nate Starner had a respectable night and he allowed just two runs on nine hits over six innings. He walked one and struck out five but fell to 1-4. Cody Crowell, Ross Buckwalter and Edgar Estanga kept West Michigan off the scoreboard for the remainder of the evening.

Three Stars:
3.Hector Luna: 3-for-4 and a caught stealing
2. Nate Starner: Two runs in six innings, despite nine hits
1. Adam Calderone: 3-for-4 with a double, triple and solo homer
