Another strong start from Kyle Ginley following his promotion to Dunedin.
Syracuse 1 at Durham 9
Kane Davis started and pitched ok. He went 6.2 innings giving up 3 runs on 7 hits (no walks). Davis struck out 6 on the night.
The Chief offense was quiet. Buck Coats had two hits from the leadoff spot and Wayne Lydon had an RBI double and a walk.
New Britain 4 at New Hampshire 11
The Fishercats banged out 13 hits on the night. Scott Campbell continued his hot start, going 3-5 with a walk, raising his average to .354. Travis Snider went 2-5 with a homer and 2 Ks. He has 4 AA homers now and seems to be settling into AA ball (6-17 with 2 HRs in his last 4 games). David Smith went 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. Kyle Phillips also had a 2 hit night, with one being a HR.
Scott Richmond had a good line for the night. Six innings, 2 runs on 4 hits and a walk. He struck out 7.
Clearwater 0 at Dunedin 4
The jump to High A doesn't seem to have phased Kyle Ginley yet. He threw a 1 hitter over 7 innings. Ginley struck out 4 and walked 3. In two starts Ginley has given up just 3 hits in 12 innings. There's a few tidbits in Gerry's interview with the Lansing coaching staff on Ginley. Eddie Rodriguez finished the game for the D-Jays with 2 hitless innings.
Two hit nights for Dunedin belonged to JP Arencibia and Sean Shoffit (who I'm just noticing is in CF now). Brian Dopirak homered as well.
Dayton 2 at Lansing 1
There were just 6 hits between the two teams so it doesn't appear to have been the most exciting game yesterday. The Lansing hits belonged to Ahrens, Chavez and Rodriguez (all singles). Manny Rodriguez now has a .398/.417/.624 line this year. He's 23 so he's old for the league, but that's an impressive line nonetheless.
Trystan Magnuson started for Lansing and went 3 innings giving up a run. Luis Perez followed and he threw 4 impressive innings striking out 7 against 2 walks and 1 hit. Brad Cuthbertson finished up with 2 perfect innings, striking out 3.
