The Hits Keep On Coming

The Chiefs banged out 21 hits in a 14-1 rout of Indianapolis as the affiliates went 2-4 yesterday.

Syracuse 14 at Indianapolis 1

Davis Romero was the lucky recipient of the Chiefs' outburst.  He gave up 1 run in 5 innings, walking 1 and striking out 2.  Wolfe came on and threw 3 perfect shutout innings striking out 4.

There were 21 hits in all for the Chiefs, but no home runs.  Sandoval and Adams each had 4, Coats and Luna had 3, and Thigpen and Mellilo had 2.


Portland 1 at New Hampshire 5


Brad Mills had a successful AA debut.  He gave up 1 unearned run in 4 innings, while striking out 4 against 2 walks.

Phillips led NH with 2 hits including a HR.  Pinckney also had two hits.  Scott Campbell had 3 walks in 4 PAs.


Fort Myers 8 at Dunedin 7

The bright spot on the mound was Nate Starner's 3 innings of one hit, no run ball.  He struck out 6.

Emaus, Patton and Calderone each had 2 hits.


Clinton 5 at Lansing 1

The Nuts were 3 hit in this one by (primarily) Blake Beaven.

Marc Rzepczynski had his third straight start where he gave up 3 or more runs, giving up 4 in 6 innings.


Auburn 7 at Jamestown 8

Two hit nights for the Doubledays were had by McDade, Amar, Sobolewski, and Del Campo.

Joel Carreno gave up 4 runs in 5.1 innings, but struck out 10 against 1 walk.


GCL Jays 1 at GCL Braves 5

Balbino Fuenmayor had a HR on a 2-3 day at the plate.  He's been hot recently going 10-36 in his last ten games with 4 XBHs.  He's now hitting .283/.365/.414 compared to .174/.244/.242 last year.  Fuenmayor turns 19 in November.  Jon Talley also had 2 hits.
