Mills Talley's a Win

Three wins and four losses.  Brad Mills delivered another excellent start as New Hampshire won.  Syracuse, Dunedin and Lansing lost.  Auburn won and the GCL Jays split a pair as Jon Talley hit a pair of home runs in the win.

Rochester 5  Syracuse 3

Brian Wolfe started and gave up two, two-run home runs to Matt Macri.  Wolfe went four innings and gave up five runs.  The Chiefs scored a run in the first inning when Danny Sandoval and Russ Adams hit back to back doubles.  Sandoval scored the Chiefs second run on a Travis Snider single. The final Syracuse run was scored by Pedro Lopez who scored on an error.  Jeremy Accardo pitched a perfect inning in relief.  Snider was 2-4 and is hitting .421 in AAA.


Harrisburg 0  New Hampshire 4

Brad Mills was the star, seven shutout innings, four hits, one walk, nine K's.  Mills ERA in AA is now 0.44.  The Fisher Cats first run scored on a double play, the bases were loaded with Scott Campbell and Eric Nielsen who had singled and JP Arencibia who had reached on an error.  In the bottom of the third Arencibia singled and scored on a David Smith double.  In the fifth Kyle Phillips hit a two run home run to finish the scoring.

Ryan Patterson was the only Fisher Cat with two hits.


Dunedin 1  Fort Myers 3

This game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth where Randy Boone allowed a run and Fort Myers had a short-lived lead.  Matt Liuzza hit a solo home run in the fifth to tie the game.  However in the bottom of the fifth Fort Myers got two runners on and scored both with sac fly's.  Boone pitched six innings and allowed the three runs on four hits.  Dunedin had only five hits, David Cooper was 0-4.


Lansing 1  West Michigan 2

Marc Rzepczynski pitched five innings and gave up one run on five hits.  Lansing tied the game in the sixth when Raul Barron stole home as part of a double steal.  The game was tied in the bottom of the ninth but Tim Collins had an off-night, he walked two and gave up two singles to take the loss.  Yohermyn Chavez had two hits.


Brooklyn 1  Auburn 3

Auburn scored a runs in the first inning, Bartolo Nicolas and Robert Sobolewski singled and Adam Amar hit a sac fly.  Brooklyn tied the game in the second inning and the game remained tied until the seventh.  Luis Rivera doubled, Chris Hopkins walked and both scored when Sobolewski drove them in.  Nicolas and Sobolewski had two hits each.

Castillo Perez started and gave up one run in five innings.


GCL Yankees 4  GCL Jays 5 - game 1

The Jays scored four runs early to build a lead.  In the second inning both Jon Talley and Justin McClanahan hit solo home runs.  Tyler Pastornicky manufactured a run in the third, he walked, stole two bases and scored on a wild pitch.  Talley hit another solo home run in the fourth.  Talley was 2-3, McClanahan was 3-3.  Balbino Fuenmayor doubled and drove in the Jays fifth run.


GCL Jays 7  GCL Yankees 8 - game 2

This game was tied at 5 after two innings, most of the Jays offense came via a grand slam by Wellinton Ramirez.  The Yankees made five errors and only one of the Jay's runs was earned.  Tyler Pastornicky was 1-3 but scored three runs.
