Nothing to See Here, Folks

Last night, around 7pm, I settled in with my laptop ready to pen my first Minor League recap of the season.  At 7:01, I was finished.

Las Vegas @ Colorado Springs- Postponed

This is going to take some getting used to.  After clicking on the Syracuse boxscore, it took me about fifteen seconds to realize I'd come to the wrong place.  I wonder if it screws the front office up, too.

In any event, the 51s were rained out, I presume.  I'll hope to get acquainted with them again next week.

New Hampshire- Scheduled Day Off

I'm 0-for-2 at this point.  Odd to have a Sunday off but whatever.

Dunedin- Scheduled Day Off

This is getting strange.  Aren't minor league teams in a perpetual struggle to lure people to their games?  Wouldn't playing on a Sunday usually be thought of as a good plan?  Is this some sort of Easter thing?  Or contingency planning for rainouts?

Lansing- Scheduled Day Off

Well, that's that.

Three Stars-

1st Star (tie)- Everyone except the schedule makers.

Bonus Content:

I figure I should probably give you guys something to talk about.  So, mull this one over.  Pretend it's January 1, 2010.  Give me your top 5 Blue Jays prospects.  Normal eligibility rules apply (No more than 50 IP or 130 AB in the Majors).  I'll start:

1- Brett Cecil

2- Justin Jackson

3- Kevin Ahrens

4- JP Arencibia

5- David Cooper

That's not so much a knock on Arencibia and Cooper as it is the belief that both Jackson and Ahrens are going to really impress in Dunedin this year.  Last week, in a Baseball America chat, Matt Eddy wrote that there isn't a left side of the infield in all of the minors that he'd take over Ahrens and Jackson.  Heady praise, indeed.  I also wouldn't be entirely surprised to see Brad Emaus crack the top 5 somewhere, especially if Cecil loses his eligibility.

Anyway, I know I didn't go way out on any limbs there but whatever, it was bonus content so stop complaining.
