Every organization has at least one player who has all the talent in the world, but they just continue to drive management (and more importantly fans) crazy with their inconsistencies. In Toronto, we have David Purcey... or, Mr. One-Good-Game, then Mr. One-Bad-Game. Unfortunately for Las Vegas, last night was his bad game.

Portland 4 Las Vegas 2

As you can guess from the teaser above, as well as the title, David Purcey had a rough outing. The southpaw allowed four runs on five hits and six walks in 4.2 innings of work. He struck out two batters. TJ Beam worked 2.1 scoreless innings, while the recently-demoted Brian Wolfe provided two scoreless innings. Kyle Phillips (C/3B) continues to hit well in triple-A and had two hits to keep his average at .343. Randy Ruiz was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a double. Jonathan Diaz was also 1-for-3. Jason Lane was 1-for-4 with a double.

Harrisburgh 4 New Hampshire 0

The Fisher Cats' bats were unable to do anything against a trio of Nationals farmhands. Yikes. Jays pitching prospect Luis Perez was doomed by one poor innings in which he allowed all four runs. Overall, the southpaw allowed four runs on seven hits and zero walks. He struck out six and induced 12 groundball outs, compared to just four flyball outs. Sean Stidfole worked a scoreless inning. Leadoff hitter Todd Donovan led the offense (if you can call it that) with two hits. Adam Calderone, David Cooper, Brian Jeroloman, Chris Gutierrez, and Luis Sanchez each managed one hit. Brad Emaus was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts and is in a mid-season funk.

 Dunedin 9 Palm Beach 5

Hey, a win! Starter Vince Bongiovanni allowed just two runs on seven hits and one walk in six innings of work. Leon Boyd allowed two runs in one inning, while Zach Dials allowed one run in his one inning. Darin Mastroianni and Kevin Ahrens each had two hits. Moises Sierra also had two hits, scored a run and drove in three. Jonathan Jaspe was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI, thanks to a homer. Justin Jackson was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Fort Wayne 3 Lansing 0

This game was scoreless until the eighth inning, when the Padres affiliate scored all three runs. Lansing out-hit its opponent seven to four in the game but still took the loss. Chase Lirette worked 5.2 innings and allowed two hits and three walks. He also struck out five batters. Hunter Moody worked a scoreless inning and struck out five. Yorman Mayora allowed all three runs thanks to two hits and two walks. Johermyn Chavez and Justin McClanahan each had two hits. Brian Van Kirk was 1-for-4 with a double and two strikeouts.

Three (Meh) Stars:
3. Moises Sierra for two hits and three RBI
2. Vince Bongiovanni for allowing two runs over six innings
1. Chase Lirette for working 5.2 scoreless innings while rehabbing a shoulder injury.
