Another lousy Friday night with two wins out of six.

Las Vegas 6 Omaha 3

Davis Romero allowed three runs over five innings of six hits. He also struck out two batters. Dirk Hayhurst worked two scoreless innings. Casey Janssen and Edward Buzachero each worked a scoreless inning with two Ks. Buck Coats had four hits in five at-bats. He also scored two runs and hit a double. Travis Snider stayed hot with another three hits, including a double. Angel Sanchez went 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Altoona 7 New Hampshire 2

Pitchers are lining up to face New Hampshire. After almost getting no hit the other day, the Fisher Cats were no hit through six innings by the newly acquired Tim Alderson. The club finally did manage a hit in the seventh and two runs before the game mercifully ended. Brad Emaus went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in the ninth. Luis Perez received the start and allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks. He struck out just one batter in 6.1 innings. Canadian Bryan Dumesnil, recently signed, worked 1.2 scoreless innings.

Clearwater/Dunedin suspended

Dayton 3 Lansing 2

Joel Carreno had another respectable start for Lansing after missing the first half of the season due to visa troubles. He allowed just one run in six innings. Carreno allowed six hits and walked four. Josh Roenicke's brother Jason got beat up a bit with two runs allowed in 1.2 innings of work. Frank Gailey finished up the game with 1.1 scoreless innings. Michael McDade had a nice day at the plate with three hits, including two doubles. AJ Jimenez had two hits (but needs to take some walks). Balbino Fuenmayor had a hit and a RBI. Yohermyn Chavez was 1-for-3 with a solo homer.

Aberdeen 11 Auburn 6

Matt Wright allowed four runs (just two earned) in five innings. He walked one with four Ks. Jamie Lehman worked two scoreless innings. Zach Outman had a rough day, allowing four unearned runs without recording an out. David Slovak also had a bad game with three runs allowed in 1.1 innings. Sean Ochinko went 1-for-3 at the plate, with two runs scored. Welinton Ramirez was 1-for-4 with two RBI. Lance Durham was 1-for-3 with a double, run scored and two RBI. Brad Glenn also had two RBI.

GCL Pirates 2 GCL Jays 0 (7 innings, Game 1)

Dennis Tepera allowed just two hits and one run in five innings. He also struck out six batters. Aaron Loup allowed one run in one inning of four hits. Offensively, Michel Crouse was 1-for-3 with a double. Jonathan Fernandez and Matt Nuzzo had the club's other two hits.

GCL Jays 4 GCL Pirates 3 (7 innings, Game 2)

Like Tepera, Matt Fields is a college arm beating up on much younger competition. He allowed two runs in five innings on four hits. He also struck out five batters. Evan Teague allowed a run in two-thirds of an inning. Brian Slover blew the save but received the win with 1.1 scoreless innings. He also struck out two batters. At the plate, Michael Crouse had another two hits, including a double and a homer, and scored three runs. Gustavo Pierre had three hits. Carlos Perez was 1-for-3 with two RBI. Kevin Denis-Fortier, Oliver Dominguez, and Henry Rodriguez also had hits.

Three Stars:
3. Michael Crouse, for three hits and a homer in two games
2. Gustavo Pierre for three hits in one game
1. Buck Coats, for four hits
