After allowing 11 runs in his previous 2 outings, Eveland was great last night, shutting out the White Sox over 7 innings and throwing only 90 pitches.
It's a great feeling to win the first game of a series with the presumed weak link in the rotation - now I fully expect the Jays to win the series. I'm not saying that based on a careful examination of the pitching match-ups, but after beating the guy who is arguably Chicago's best pitcher (John Danks) and having Young Studs coming for the next 3 games, something just tells me that's how it will shake out. Of course, things never go as you expect, and I'm sure I'll be eating my words shortly, but that's not the point - it's the confidence I have in this team and the way they're playing right now.
