On Sunday night, the farm was utterly helpless, losing every game they played. Monday was a little better. Offense was the theme of the night, as the farm scored 26 runs. That may not sound hugely impressive, but only three games were played with one rain-out, one day off, and one all-star break.

Las Vegas 10 at Colorado Springs 6

What must have been an exciting back and forth game was finally put out of reach in the eight when the 51s put up a five-spot to seal the game. Offense was the theme of the night, as it so often is in Colorado Springs. Top performances included Mike McCoy's three walks and solo homer, J.P. Arencibia fell a triple short of the cycle, and Brad Emaus singled, walked, and stole two bases.

Luis Perez had a rough day, giving up five runs in as many innings, but in the run-scoring environment of Colorado Springs that was good enough to give his team a chance to win, which they took advantage of. Merkin Valdez and Jesse Carlson mostly held the Sky Sox at bay.

New Hampshire - scheduled day off

Dunedin - postponed

Lansing - all-star break

Auburn 12 at Mahoning Valley 0

It was a repeat of opening day as Auburn smacked their opponent around 12-0. They put up a 7-spot in the second inning and just kept piling it on. Lots of individual performances could be highlighted, and so lots of individual WILL be highlighted! Such as: Oliver Dominguez, recently demoted, reached base four times on a single and three walks, Carlos Perez was only 1-5 but the 1 was a grand slam, and John Roberts collected two singles, a triple, and a walk. Starter Sam Strickland, a 25th rounder from 2009, hurled six shut-out innings, allowing just four hits and a walk while striking out one. Zach Outman proved his dedication to the Three True Outcomes by striking out five and walking three in just two innings of work.
