Over the course of the first three innings of their game against the Las Vegas 51s, the Portland Beavers scored as many runs as all six Jays affiliates combined on Sunday.

Portland 21    Las Vegas 4

Merkin Valdez put together one of the ugliest lines for a started in recent memory: 2 IP, 12 H, 12 ER, 3 BB, 1 K.  Wow.  Zach Jackson and Steven Register both sucked as well and even Jason Lane threw an inning, allowing a run in the ninth.

Not much good news at the plate, either.  Callix Crabbe had two hits, as did Danny Perales.

New Hampshire 6    New Britain 9

Make sure you get your fill of the offensive updates here 'cause there isn't much to write about for a while.   Adam Loewen and Eric Thames each went deep for the Fisher Cats.  For Loewen it was his 11th and the 17th for Thames.  Loewen also chipped in a single and a walk while Adeiny Hechavarria continued his impressive run of late with two singles and two RBI.  Darin Mastroianni doubled, walked, drove in a run and scored another.  Oh, and Matthew Liuzza had two singles and struck out twice.

It's a shame about Reidier.  Reidier Gonzalez got the start and was unimpressive for the fourth time in five AA starts.  Gonzalez lasted five innings and allowed six runs (five earned) on eight hits and three walks without striking anyone out.  Danny Farquhar picked him up and ended up with the loss after allowing three runs on six hits in two and two thirds.  Bubbie Buzachero pitched a scoreless ninth.  Did you know he's 7-0 with a 6.68 ERA this year?  Pretty funky.

Dunedin 0    Bradenton 5

Just three hits for the DJays on Sunday.  Ryan Goins, Mike McDade, and Mark Sobolewski had 'em.  They were all singles.  Sobolewski also struck out twice, as did Travis D'Arnaud.

Henderson Alvarez started and wasn't terrible.  The righty went 6, and allowed four runs on seven hits but didn't walk a batter and struck out six.

Clinton 3    Lansing 0

Hey look, another shutout.  Five hits this time.  The only one worth mentioning was a double from Kevin Ahrens.  Not that it's a great sign or anything but he's OPS'd .895 over the past 10 games.

Matt Fields started and took the loss despite pitching quite well in going 6.1 and allowing two runs on three hits.  He didn't walk anyone and struck out five.  Brian Slover pitched an inning and a third and striking out three.

Jamestown 1    Auburn 2

We were two-thirds of an inning from another shutout, folks.  The Doubledays were held scoreless through eight and a third before Stephen McQual homered home a Carlos Perez walk for a 2-1 walkoff victory.  Prior to that, Catcher Jack Murphy went 3-for-3 with a double.  Everyone else was invisible.

Four Auburn pitchers combined to lead the team to victory.  Andrew Hutchison started and lasted three innings allowing a run on two hits and two walks while striking out three.  Shawn Griffith picked up from there with four no-hit, two-walk, six-strikeout frames.  Travis Garrett worked a scoreless eighth before Dayton Marze won it with a perfect ninth.

DSL Blue Jays 0    DSL Braves 3

Back to the shutouts.  And just three hits.  Sony Javier had a double, as did Santiago NessyCesar Barazarte singled.

Alex Ramirez started and went five, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks against two strikeouts.  Victor German pitched three perfect innings with three strikeouts in relief.

GCL Blue Jays
typically have Sundays off.  It was a typical Sunday.
